New project post #2
Here is the an update on my new painting, which I still have not titled yet.....I think it is coming along nicely! As usual, these paintings are extremely tedious as very square millimeter must be done with great delicacy.

Hawaii Sunset
This painting was done in oils on a 16 x 20 inch stretched canvas. As with my previous painting, I am focusing on the luminosity and glazing effects in this series of paintings. The sun represents about 10 thin transparent layers and with direct light on it, it appears to glow. The sky also was accomplished by doing a number of thin orange tint glazes. The painting is based on an area in Hawaii.

Yellowstone Falls
It has been a while since my last entry. Here is my new painting done in oil, entitled "Yellowstone Falls". A recurrent theme in my paintings is to always try to achieve maximal luminosity. I think I have achieved that in this particular painting if you look at the water fall, especially at the bottom. If you are interested in how I achieved this just let me know and I will walk you through it. It is not easy!
