New Project #4

Here is the final update on my new painting entitled "Principal's office: Past and Present".  I put in some serious hours for this painting...It is a good thing I am on winter break right now from being a professor as this painting would have taken me months to complete otherwise.  It think it came out pretty well and I am going to try to sell prints, posters, greeting cards etc. of it on my various websites (Fine Art America, Redbubble and ImageKind).

New project post #2

Here is the an update on my new painting, which I still have not titled yet.....I think it is coming along nicely!  As usual, these paintings are extremely tedious as very square millimeter must be done with great delicacy.

New project

I have decided to take a break from doing landscapes. I enjoy the freedom that landscapes offer, but sometimes I like to do detail work such as this current painting. This painting is on a 14 x 18 inch canvas board, which is much different than a stretched canvas. This type of support is much better for doing detail paintings. I love the 50's and Norman Rockwell, and this painting is an update on an old Rockwell painting entitled "shiner". I am constantly annoyed by my college students and their addiction to their technology particularly phones. I will post several updates as I do this painting. You can see on this first installment, it is mainly showing the drawing with just the door being painted. It is difficult to see, but the girl on the right will have a nice black eye when I start adding color. I hope you will enjoy this project along with me!
